User Experience for Social Change Video Online

The UK Usability Professionals Association  has posted a video online of the talks from the event, User Experience for Social Change.

 

The event, which was held in London on 19 May 2011, looked at how good design and positive messages can enhance people’s lives and lead to a better and more inclusive society.

 

Patrick spoke about the psychosocial aspects of these issues, in particular at how the findings of positive psychology can be applied to the design and content of online material.

Principles of Success Available on Amazon

June 2011

Patrick’s book, the Principles of Success is now available on Amazon. The book is based on findings from the field of positive psychology, a comprehensive study of the self-help literature and case studies looking at the attitudes and behaviours of successful people.

 

It outlines the five key principles associated with achievement, happiness and fulfilment and gives tools and techniques for their application.

 

Patrick recently gave a talk at the  UK Usability Professionals Association, looking at the application of these principles to user experience.

Innovation Creativity and Leadership, Keynote Speech

Patrick delivered the keynote speech at the event Innovation, Creativity and Leadership: Research and Practice hosted by City University in London.

The event served as a showcase for innovation and creativity researchers and professionals from all over the world.

Master's in Business Innovation, CEDIM, Mexico

June 2011

At the end of this month, Patrick returns to CEDIM in Mexico to give a course in branding. The course forms part of the Master’s in Business Innovation (MBI) program offered by the university.

 

Patrick said, “This will be my third session of teaching on the MBI at CEDIM. It is always a great pleasure to lecture on the MBI. The students are all successful businesspeople in their own right and that leads to some very interesting and positive discussion and learning.”

 

CEDIM has become recognised as Mexico’s leading institution in the area of innovation.
